Making Food Fun Camp June 17-21,2024 is specifically designed for children between the ages of 3 and 7 who may have sensory issues or anxiety when it comes to food and feeding. The camp will be held 9 AM to 12 PM, Monday through Friday.
During the camp, children will participate in fun activities that are based on sensory experiences with food. This means they will get to explore different textures, tastes, and smells of food in a playful and enjoyable way. These activities are designed to help children become more comfortable with eating and to overcome any anxieties they may have. In addition to the food-related activities, there will also be breaks where children can engage with other sensory items and play. This allows them to take a break from the eating tasks and enjoy other sensory experiences that can further enhance their overall development.
Social Skills Success Camp June 24-28,2024 is designed for children ages 3-6 and 7-10 depending on interest, held M-F from 9am-12 PM, it utilizes a sensory-based approach, recognizing the importance of sensory experiences in learning and development. By incorporating sensory activities and tools, children are provided with opportunities to explore and understand their own sensory preferences and sensitivities. This understanding helps them regulate their emotions and behaviors in challenging situations.
Throughout the camp, children will learn strategies for self-regulation, which involves recognizing and managing their own emotions and reactions. They will also learn effective ways to interact with their peers, such as taking turns, sharing, and effective communication. These social skills are crucial for building positive relationships and navigating social dynamics camp will be lead by both an Occupational Therapist and a Speech Pathologist.
The Back to School Success Camp July 29-Aug 2,2024 is a specialized program aimed at children between the ages of 6 to 9, designed to help them transition back to school with confidence and success. The camp focuses on various areas of development that are crucial for academic and social growth.
During the camp, children will engage in activities and exercises that target peer and teacher interaction. They will learn effective communication skills, such as listening, speaking, and taking turns. These skills are essential for building positive relationships with their peers and establishing a productive classroom environment.
Handwriting and cutting skills are also emphasized in the camp. Children will have the opportunity to practice and refine their handwriting techniques, improving their legibility and speed. Cutting skills are important for various classroom activities, and the camp aims to enhance children's fine motor skills and coordination in this area.
Decision-making skills are another key focus of the camp. Children will learn how to make thoughtful and informed choices, considering different options and consequences.
